To Kern or Not to Kern
I recently sat through a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that repeatedly used the word “Network,” set in Times New Roman, as a heading. The letter spacing looked terrible! I spent most of the presentation staring at the gaping hole between the “N” and the “e” and the off-center “o.” This is how it looked:
